I've been having alot of bad dreams in the last few months- probably from the stress of trying to finish my PhD (and yes, I realise it is 11:20am and I am writing a blog instead of my thesis, but everyone needs a break, right??).
One particular dream the other night involved me landing in Nepal, getting robbed and running away to hide. In the end my knight in shining armour (AKA Luke) came to Nepal to rescue me, though I think we were still trying to flee when I woke up...
I'm not actually that worried about my safety in Nepal; I'm fairly sensible, though I do have a habit of losing things (seriously, has anyone seen my work keys? I reckon an undergrad stole them for my awesome 'Bogan and Proud' lanyard). Anyway, I'm more worried about my laptop dying from a power surge or something.
In light of this, I decided today to check my travel insurance PDS regarding laptops. Now, I realise this is probably pretty standard travel insurance cover, but I couldn't help but find the following sections a tad disconcerting:
Section 2: Kidnap and ransom/extortion cover
Section 3: Hijack and detention
So, I'm thinking that I might need a few extra knights on call...
My Nepali Adventures...
Welcome to the world of a klutzy blonde who can't even sort her washing without injuring herself...
Yet I'm taking off to Nepal, to work as a Water Safety Planning Engineer partnering with an Aussie and a Nepali NGO, and am going to attempt to do so without getting horribly sick, breaking a bone, or embarrassng myself entirely.
Here you can follow what's going on, probably punctuated by stories of self-depricating humour and general nonsense...
And in case you were wondering about my blog title, I'm a massive Disney fan and a sanitation engineer... need I say more?
